Via + Idaho + Me
Imagining a dreamy Idaho-lifestyle is my favorite past time too!
At Via Idaho I (hopefully) have indulged you in a new way of life that you have been dreaming of . . . to live in a pretty place with incredible views, have a lovely backyard full of wilderness AND ABSOLUTELY ENJOY IT!
Which brings me to my next point, it’s okay to share this Idaho livin’!
In fact, it might be time to enlighten all of the haters who want to keep Idaho a secret that we must have a pretty appealing lifestyle on our hands here . . . whether or not you acknowledge it. The secret might be getting out. So in good taste, here’s the disclaimer: I will be telling people about how amazing Idaho is! I mean, if anyone ever needs convincing on how lucky you should feel to live in Idaho, I’ve got the time! So to all of my fellow locals who love to spread the good word about it this amazing state—
Here’s your permission!
It’s okay to indulge in sharing the Idaho lifestyle! Welcome all Idaho stans, welcome all!
To those new to Idaho, first off, I’m sorry! There’s a weird stigma going around bashing new comers and it seems like some of the Idahoan’s don’t want new-comers here. At all. Perhaps you’ve heard “Idaho’s full” or “no-vacancy” which is unfair. So I’d like to be one of the first ones to be publicly apologizing on behalf of those campaigns. And whilst those ridiculous stickers aren’t working to benefit anybody, I’m actively working on making this topic a slightly nicer narrative. And I promise to keep at it until the job is done.
The silver lining? I guess just imagine how special this place might be if it’s held that dearly to the hearts . . . and in some extreme cases, stuck to the bumpers of those choosing to spend their lives here!
Hello, we need a culture shift! I’m changing this standard of hush-hushing of the Idaho story. Starting right now!
A note to all of you cranky Idahoan’s- we know that you live in the best dang state ever, no arguments here! I’m not trying to offend anyone but for as lucky as we are, we should try find ways to cultivate our passion for our home into something even more beautiful to share. . . not take it away from others who want to join-in on enjoying it. Let’s create a better culture in our community.
Idaho’s heritage means a lot to me.
My family homesteads were built here many, many years ago and for generations we’ve been dwelling along famous Boise boulevards, pristine McCall lakes, and rampant wild rivers. Being from here, well Boise specifically, I’m here to tell you that I’ve known and shared a certain vision with my family for a very long time. When it comes to our home state, my only coo or concern is: how are we doing with keeping the future of Idaho just as dreamy, and gorgeously existing for future generations?
In the ways that I have been raised to know Idaho, I’m having myself an amazing time sharing it with absolutely everyone. And you know what keeps me up at night? The thought that not everyone knows what a huckleberry tastes like. Can you believe it?!
So, you might not see me, or feel like you’ve related to this blog a whole lot yet, but I’m telling you- just wait and see what positive changes come from spreading a little inclusivity. So far, the aspects of my life and the role I feel that Via Idaho has as a brand have much bigger and better things to offer our community. Via Idaho has just newly begun and as it grows it already has the ability to foster positive change greater than any work of mine I’ve ever felt.
The Via Idaho blog matches my passion for living in Idaho with the hopes to sustain a future, and fulfill my hopes that many others will adapt the lifestyle too. That’s what Via Idaho was founded on. My hopes is this blog will feature endless ideas from our wild, inspirational home and feel inclusive to those who grew up here like I did, and become just as resourceful to those who have not. And guide the future generations of Idahoans to do the same.
With the sharing of sustainable ideas, goods, crafts, hacks, recipes, tips and tricks this is a place that we can grow our community stronger and wiser.
As I’ve said a lot lately, stayed tuned folks! A lot more content and info will be up for you to click, browse and shop very shortly!
Cheers, to Via Idaho! A new beginning!
